Back on Tap : Pils Nye The Barley Guy
Pils Pils Pils Pils, Pils Nye The Barley Guy. A tribute to the man we all grew up with and loved. The Science Guru of our generation. The one we looked forward to watching on that big bulky classroom TV our teachers would roll out. Bill Nye, this one’s for you buddy! Our take on the classic, Czech style Pilsner. We start with all 100% German Pilsner Malt for our grain bill. We then bitter it up with some trusty ol’ Hallertau Magnum. Then to finish it all up, we top it off with the ever so tasty ever so noble Saaz hops. This is an all-day beer. Crispy, light bodied, and refreshing!

Brewing Vocabulary : Keg
A cylindrical container, usually constructed of steel or sometimes aluminum, commonly used to store, transport and serve beer under pressure. In the U.S., kegs are referred to by the portion of a barrel they represent, for example, a ½ barrel keg = 15.5 gal, a ¼ barrel keg = 7.75 gal, a 1/6 barrel keg = 5.23 gal. Other standard keg sizes will be found in other countries.

Glassware : Stange Glasses
Details
The stange glass--which gets its name from the German word for pole--is narrow, straight, and cylindrical. Like a champagne flute, the stange concentrates soft hop and malt aromas and preserves carbonation. Unlike a flute, however, the stange has a thick-bottomed base for reliable sturdiness.
Appropriate Beer Styles
Delicate beers like kölsch, bocks, lambics, gose, Czech pilsners, rye beer, altbier, rauchbier

SMaSH Bandicoot: Mosaic
The second in our SMaSh (Single Malt and Single Hop) Series. Is a toast to those who say sequels are never better than the original. We have to disagree! For this go around we decided to use 2 Row and, one of our favorites here at the Brewery, Mosaic. One of the most common, yet flavor-packed hops that we all know and love. With our heavy Dry Hop addition, Mosaic really got to be the star of this beer. Notes of Berries, Citrus, and delightful Tropical Fruits!
Cheers!

Our Team : Roy Owens, “The Man Who Makes Things Happen”
Native Californian born in the Bay Area, grew up in Vacaville and retired from the public school system after 32 years in the maintenance, operations a facilities department.
My lovely wife tolerates many hobbies including cars, guitars, and home brew. My son and I have been home brewing for years. Met the Dawson family in 2020 after answering an ad looking for a maintenance guy and the rest is history.
It’s been awesome being a part of SBC’s growth and enjoying good beer.

Our Team : The Brewers, Josh Bass
“If I brew my own beer, it will be cheaper than buying it.” I said convincingly to my wife, as I contemplated buying my first beer brewing kit. A simple starter kit turned into an obsession with learning everything I could about brewing beer.
Fast forward 10 years and that 5 gallon brewing bucket has now turned into brewing 250 gallon batches at SBC! I am proud to say, my beers have won: Local, State and National awards which makes me so excited to produce them on a large scale at SBC so everyone can sample and enjoy them.
On the personal note, I have been married to my wife Erin for 11 years and we have two kids together, Jonathan and Abigail. My favorite beers at SBC are Hazy on the 80, El Chivo and Never Frozen. Cheers!

How Throw A Flat Bag In Cornhole - Get Better At Cornhole
Wednesday, January 18, 2023
Our Team : The Brewers, Mark Shaw
It all started when I accidentally split my head open on one of my dad’s glass carboys. Ever since then I’ve been obsessed!
My name is Mark Shaw and I’m the newest Brewer here at Solano Brewing Company. I’m a Solano County Native and I absolutely love it here. I’m married to my gorgeous wife Diana and we have 2 beautiful kids, Elias and Isla. Growing up I came from a household where my Father was always homebrewing. So I practically grew up around it. I remember, as a child, waking up to the smell of freshly mashed grains, the smell of boiling wort, and the godly scent of hop additions. It all stuck with me. Following in his footsteps I picked up homebrewing myself at the age of 23. I instantly fell in love.
To be able to create something of your own, and to enjoy it yourself and with others, is what really got me. I have a growing passion for beer, hops, and the whole brewing process! This is my dream job and has been for quite some time now. I am extremely lucky to have found something I love, and choose it as a career, at such a young age. I’m more than excited to be here and to be able to contribute and share with the community and the whole SBC family. Cheers!

Sunday Mornings, Pastry Stout
Who says you can't have beer for breakfast? Here at SBC we think otherwise! It was this ideology in which “Sunday Mornings” was born. We take a Pastry Stout base and then add a hefty amount of Cinnamon Toast Crunch™ to the mix! Huge notes of Cinnamon, Sweetness, and that leftover milk at the bottom of the bowl, complement the dark and roasty malts extremely well. But, we didn’t stop there. We thought, we need more! So we Dry Hopped this beer with Cinnamon Toast Crunch™ as well! Cereal and Beer? What more could you ask for? So go ahead. Pour yourself a glass, flip on your favorite Cartoons, and enjoy your Lazy Sunday Morning. You’ve earned it!
Come warm up with this tasty new stout! We’ll be open all weekend.
Cheers!
